So what's it about?

Naomi Aren’s parents are part of a dark cult.

They control her life and abuse her.

The only joy in Naomi’s life is her greenhouse of roses.

One day her father tells Naomi that she will be marrying Dwayne, a young man who is cruel and also part of the cult.

Naomi thinks that her life is over until she meets Kai who shares her love for roses and kisses her during the night.

Kai awakens the need to be free in Naomi and she must try and find a way to escape from her parents and her impending unwanted marriage.

Love it or hate it?

The positive points – This was a unique read with an interesting plot and characters.

Naomi was relatable and I enjoyed reading as she grew and developed as a character.

There was a big twist that I didn’t see coming and the ending leaves you wanting more.

The negative points – I was slightly disappointed when I realised there was a love triangle and it was obvious (to me at least) who Naomi would go with at the end.

I also wasn’t a fan of the whole Guardians getting their energy from kisses thing.

Call me strange but a guy coming into your room at night to kiss you is just creepy.

Overall this was an enjoyable and unique read that I would recommend.
